RD Work Interface Management Problems Diagnosis and Solutions

Basic Information

Project Name RD Work Interface Management Problems Diagnosis and Solutions.
Customer Industry Photonics components.
Customer Name Optimax Photonics Technology (due to service contract's confidential clause, customer's real name is withheld).
Department RD business unit.
Members RD managers in various departments, totally 15 people.
Period 8 weeks, 4 consulting hours per week.


Company recently merged, and restructured RD business unit's human resources organization and operations method. This caused major interface problems with overseas sales units and China manufacturing units.  There were many operational communication problems. General manager specially designated RD managers to form a task force team to diagnose problems, and propose viable actions to improve RD work interface management efficiency.

Project Objectives

  • Objective and effective diagnosis of interface management root problems, causes, conflicts effects, and priorities rank.
  • Propose a viable improvement plan; including solution steps, methods, schedule, budget, human resources plan, execution, monitoring, control etc.
  • Improve RD managers' problems diagnosis and improvement planning ability.
  • Increase RD managers' understanding and agreement of problems realities; and increase will and commitment towards solutions.
